I am a motivated and focused graduate student looking for technical roles. My interests lie in the field of Systems Software Development. I also have hands-on work experience in application areas such as Machine Learning / Deep Learning, Virtual Reality (VR) and Internet of Things (IoT). I believe that technology has a potential to do wonders for the society and as engineers we have a responsibility and privilege to do so.

Developed a softare platofrm in Virtual Reality (VR) using Unity 3D. The project aims to give travelers an immersive experience to plan their holidays. Won the 'Best Graphics/Open GL' award during PennApps Hackathon at University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).

Sports Training in Virtual Reality (VR) environment
Programmed a game on Oculus Rift VR environment for the training of professional and amateur sports athletes. Analyzed data from Kinect and Arduino for real-time pose detection inside Unity3D. Use of OpenPose SDK for pose detection and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm for pose classification.

Marauder’s Map (Internet of Things)
Developed an IoT project involving android app for indoor location tracking that provides a platform to connect different communities. Proposed a system architecture with security, usability, privacy considerations and pitched a business model. Finalist at IoT competition at Heinz Club at CMU.

ARAM - Apnea Rest Analysis Mask
The idea is to build a low-cost, portable, non-invasive, ergonomic and comfortable diagnostic device for longitudinal monitoring of sleep health and mass screening of obstructive sleep apnea. Part of an international team from India and USA (MIT Media Labs).

Communication Systems for Physically Challenged
This project was aimed to create seamless communication among the hearing and visually impaired. The communication is facilitated with blueooth by an Android App and a wearable module which recognizes internationally accepted hand sign language.

Electro-Retinogram (ERG) Stimulator
Part of a team which developed a low cost, wearable and portable ERG stimulator (as per ISCEV standards). The project was was in association with Camera Culture Group, MIT Media Labs.


Research Assistant, NavLab CMU
Working at the NavLab in Robotics Institute (RI), School of Computer Science (SCS) at Carnegie Mellon. My research involves using Machine Learning and Deep Learning for anomaly detection of different types of radiation using video and images.

Graduate Teaching Assistant, CMU
Teaching Assistant for the course - Mobile and IoT Computing Services (08-781) offered by Institue of Software Research (ISR), School of Computer Science (SCS) at Carnegie University.
Helping 25 teams prototype and develop projects in the field of Internet of Things (IoT).

Summer Research Assistant, CyLab CMU
Worked on the deployment of a Deep Learning SDK for real-time face detection and recognition on Linux CentOS. Formulated machine learning models using XGBoost for training on the CASIA dataset.

Research Fellow, Quanical
Conducted extensive research in the fields of Cryptography, Steganography, Cyber-Security and Satellite Communication. Published a research paper in the field of cyber-security at the IEEE Aerospace Conference, March 2017.

Intern, NCETIS
Research and development of a Remotely Operated All-Terrain Vehicle for security and surveillance. Worked on electronic and embedded systems design team with NVIDIA Jetson, motors, drivers, battery management system and sensors like GPS, IMU, Proximity and Metal Detectors.

Summer Research Intern, Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay
Internship under Prof. Dr. Santosh Noronha (IIT-B) at Tata Centre of Technology and Design. Worked on various health-tech research projects. I particularly investigated use of 2 lead ECG with active electrodes for a portable ECG device. Devised amplifiers and filters for signal conditioning.

Member, Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) Sigma Chapter
Honarary member of the National Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society - IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN). Members are inducted by invitation only based on the scholastic and academic performance.

Student General Secretary - VJTI Alumni Association
Led various activities of student body of Alumni Association of VJTI. Managed a team of 70+ students to organize ‘VJTI Guest Lecture Series’, ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’, sports events and VJTI Alumni Reunion with 1000+ attendees.

Volunteer Work
Tutoring school students as a member of ‘Teach for India’ initiative to stimulate young minds.

Student Ambassador - TEDx Gateway
Organized lectures of TEDx speakers in Mumbai with attendence of 300+. Actively interacted with TEDx speakers from various disciplines.

About Me

I believe that life should be multi-faceted. Just as the seven colors of a rainbow look beautiful together, a person with varied interests lives a diverse life. Apart from my academics, I like to travel, read non-fiction books and listen to classical instrumental music. I like swimming or playing a game of chess in my free time. I meditate daily, as I believe meditation and yoga have answers to many of our problems in life.
